Although reverting back to a plain text newsletter from the ubiquitous and stylized HTML version may seem like a step backwards to some, it’s a switch that’s actually getting some traction amongst savvy email marketers.
Some HTML newsletters can appear overly ‘salesy’ and lack a human touch. This only serves to drive down engagement and doesn’t encourage the recipient to respond. Plain text newsletters are in-keeping with the style of regular emails, they feel real and authentic, and they contain that all-important personal touch.
