There’s something about Outlook!

So many clients we work with are hung up on “It doesn’t quite look 100% in Outlook”… however let’s be realistic. The latest email client share is as follows:

  1. Apple iPhone- 33% +0.65
  2. Gmail- 15% +0.21
  3. Apple iPad- 12% -0.06
  4. Google Android- 10% +0.34
  5. Apple Mail – 8% +2.66
  6. Outlook – 6% -0.44
  7. Yahoo! Mail- 3% -0.07
  8. Outlook.com- 3% -0.28
  9. Windows Live Mail- 2% -0.06
  10. Thunderbird- 1% -0.02

That’s right.

So not only does mobile smash desktops in terms of client share (55%+ of these are mobile devices), Outlook is just 6% of your overall readership.

So why do people care…?

Simply put – the business world still runs on Microsoft, (Sorry to say, but we’re all Mac users here at MailNinja), so you see everything from an Outlook point of view.

Focus on the bigger picture.

You may use Outlook, sat in your office. However your customers aren’t. They are ‘mostly’ using mobile devices, and mostly using Apple mobile devices (45% is iPhone and iPad alone).
